hi. i'm jason.

this is the part where i'm supposed to sell you on something, so instead here's my github — go look at the commit history yourself, it's more honest than anything i'd write here.

i mostly write c++ for contest problems, and js/c++ for games nobody asked me to make. currently splitting time between usaco, amc, and whatever project convinced me at 1am that it needed a rewrite

stuff i've built

games
  1. striker-aisingle-player soccer, you control one, eleven other players (teammates and opponents both) are ai. the switch-player key took longer to feel right than everything else combined.
  2. rewindpuzzle-platformer where the only verb is rewinding the world. five levels, wrote the rest of the level ideas down and cut them.
  3. raytracerfrom scratch, no three.js. spheres, a mirror ball, recursive reflections. math over visuals.
  4. terminalthe fake shell embedded above. this link just opens it full-page.
  5. hangmanc++, ascii gallows, two word lists. the comments in the source narrate it better than i could here.
tools / not-games
  1. jarvispython voice/automation framework, rebuilt from the ground up as a plugin router instead of one giant script. still growing past what it needs to do.
contest stuff
  1. usaco / amcmostly bronze/silver problems, some editorials, linked below. no heroics.

contest writeups

non-programming stuff?? on this site??

turns out there's more to say than "i wrote a program." mostly not documented here yet. might add actual content later. no promises.

this section exists mainly so the site doesn't read like a resume generator. working on it.
